Review Disney Coronado Springs Resort for Teens/Tweens

The Disney Coronado Resort is an onsite, moderately priced hotel for families with children of all ages from toddlers to teens and tweens. The hotel has a Spanish-inspired theme with easy access to the Disney Parks including Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Animal Kingdom. With multiple swimming pools, an arcade, a lake and a number of activities geared toward your children, the Coronado Springs Resort is a place to consider when staying at Disney.

 'Coronado Spring Resort Disney'

After spending hours visiting Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot or Animal Kingdom it’s nice to return to the hotel, where you can relax, while your older children kids explore the grounds of the hotel. At the Disney Coronado Springs Resort there are multiple pools including the main pool, The Dig, where there is a beautiful waterfall, in addition to an amazing slide for the kids. We spent an afternoon at The Dig where there was an area for the kids to play volleyball, in addition to an arcade, a ping pong table and pool side games. Bingo anyone?

Check out the video of my son going down the slide while at the resort below.

In addition to The Dig, the kids loved exploring the grounds. There were squirrels, ducks and getcos walking around outside. The fact that the squirrels allowed us to get up close was an added bonus. In New York, you can’t get within five feet of the squirrels.

Disney Coronado Springs Resort Features

Multiple dining options – including a market, a lounge, a grill house and cafes
Multiple swimming pools including one shaped like an archaeological dig site
Large playground and 2 arcades
Lake with a marina
Pampering spa and fitness center
Meeting and event spaces
Complimentary perks like airport, area and theme park shuttle and internet access

One of our major concerns about staying at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort was the distance from the parks. Traveling with children, who are eager and excited to get to the parks, we were a bit hesitant about staying at a resort that wasn’t walking distance to any of the parks.  The shuttle service to the parks was provided for free and was definitely convenient, with the waiting time for the shuttle usually only a few minutes. While there were  some times when the shuttle to Magic Kingdom didn’t come for 15 minutes, those incidents were rare. Returning to the hotel from the parks had a wait time of less than five minutes, making for a pleasant experience.

My children are huge fans of Disney and the Disney Coronado Springs Resort definitely made it fun for them when we weren’t at the parks.
